Papaya Soup to boost milk supply?

From the requests of many stressed out mommies with twins or simply just because you experienced a dip in your milk supply when you returned to work, here is a simple recipe sharing from me. I drink this 3-4 times a week and it boosted my milk supply tremendously.

As each person's body reacts differently, some may have results while others still would not get the desired effect of increased milk supply. Do know that rest and relaxation from a stressful environment is pertinent too in affecting milk supply.

Here's the simple recipe:

1. Get the raw green papayas from your friendly neighbourhood fruit vendor. A medium size one cooks up a pot enough for 4 servings.
2. Peel and cut these raw papayas into bite size and boil them in a pot with about 5 bowls of water.
3. Add in about 250g of pork ribs or 3 piece of chicken thighs. ( you may remove excess fat or skin if desired )
4. Remember to add in half cup of red dates and wolfberry seeds. ( the latter, you may add in half an hour before serving. )
5. Cut up one piece of white fungus with a pair of scissors.
6. You may add in a honey date ( optional )

All the ingredients above can be added into the pot of boiling water all at once.

Papaya Soup with Chicken ( without White fungus )

Bring the boiling soup to simmer/ brew over low fire for about 3-4 hours.

The soup is ready to serve after that. The papaya can be eaten or left alone as the essence is already in the soup after so many hours of brewing.

An overnight effect can be seen or for some mommies, a week later.

Hope you have fun trying this out. Even when not lactating now, I still drink this soup occasionally coz it's a yummy soup to consume!
